NOVEMBER 2011 NEWS: THE PAPER MILL IS CLOSING.
The Paper Mill opened in September, 2010. With the vision of providing a multidimensional art space incorporating Gallery, Workshop, Residency space and Zine library, The Paper Mill has become one of Sydney's best loved gallery spaces. We have been blown away by the support that the arts community has shown us and the interest and support that Sydney businesses, visitors and workers have offered.
The Paper Mill started with four artists and designers: Anne-Louise Dadak, Chris Hodge, Stephanie Peters and Siân McIntyre. As we have grown we have welcomed a team of highly motivated, capable and dedicated volunteers with Volunteer manager Amelia Wallin and three additional Directors: Aaron Anderson, Kate Campbell and Laura Pike.
Throughout our journey we have had incredible mentors and sponsors, without their support The Paper Mill would not be what it is today. Thank-you to City of Sydney (Jan Campbell and Richard Roberts in particular), Theo from Digitalpress, Alison from VividWireless, Hugh from Micro Seconds, our original committee members, and all the incredible artists, musicians, performers and attendees - we couldn't have done it without you.
The Paper Mill will be closing its doors Tuesday 29 November 2011 after almost two years of planning, fundraising, exhibitions, workshops, residencies, events and parties! We will be sure to go with a BANG - a closing party planned for early December 2011.
We hope to see you in the final weeks of The Paper Mill, and hope to continue our vision for an inclusive, multifaceted, supportive creative environment in the future.
Thank-you for your ongoing support of The Paper Mill.
